Have IP but can't do anything

I can see through settings/about mediabox that I have an IP.  
I can do this either direct connect through ethernet or by setting up the wireless.  
I can find the corresponding IP on my router as well using either method.
Either method results in the same.  I can't do anything.

The home page shows the "locating by network..." and the spining icon.  
I clicked on that and entered my city name.  That didn't do anything.  
I went to applications and "update & Backup".  
Online update says "Network Connection Failed".  
Used browser and got same "ERR_NAME_NTO_RESOLVED".

I tried hitting the power button and doing reboot as well.  

What can I do????  
Don't know how to get connected.
