Hi guys,

I'm a new owner of a SER-7..    it has a very handy little USB-C port on the front that looks perfect for charging devices like phones / tablets etc while using the computer.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how much power you can (or is advisable) to draw from it ?

I think USB-C is technically good for 60 or 100 watts,   but I'm guessing it's not a good idea to draw that much given the total system supply is only 120W total.

Does anyone know is there any guidance / specification on this ?

If it is a standard USB-C without Power Delivery, it will output something like 5V 1A max, certainly not 20V 5A.

If you plug your phone on it, it will draw 450mA and that's it.

EDIT: I tested it, my phone draws 5V 450mA, even if it's capable of 11V 3A etc

Thanks Magister

That's a bit disappointing,   but probably not entirely surprising.

Appreciate you testing it for me.   It'll be slow charge for emergencies only then :)

The PC needs more power to supply functioning ,so there`s power limit to the USB port

I'm very happy with the SER-7,  it's a great little PC.

Power USB port would have been a nice additional feature,   but perhaps not practical.

Appreciate you taking the time to answer my query.
