Hello.

Recently purchased a Beelink SER5 PRO Mini PC,AMD Ryzen 7 5800H
Installed Linux Mint 22,  Cinnamon V6.2.9, Kernel 6.8.0-40-generic, in its own partition.
Monitor: HP W2207h (rather old), is connected via HDMI

Initially, Mint would not install, just flashed the splash screen - until I added "nomodeset" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT

Then I was able to complete the installation.
Now - the monitor does not wake from suspend (though the BeeLink does).
Same problem on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Works fine on Windows.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

-Larry

Hello there,

We think it's the system's graphics driver.

It is recommended that you update the corresponding LINUX graphics driver. If you can't find the driver file, you can probably search for it from this website - kernel.org .

Have a nice day!

Thanks for your replies.

As mentioned in my post, "Initially, Mint would not install, just flashed the splash screen - until I added "nomodeset" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT"

I am assuming you did not encounter this problem.

I've never heard of "MX Linux AHS version", but I will be eager to try when I return from this trip.

Thank you again for the suggestion.

-Larry
