The only problem is - that none of this makes sense.

When I check with powercfg.exe /SleepStudy, it shows that it has entered the sleep state many times in the last 3 days. However, the report from powercfg /energy shows that only hibernation is supported - not S3 - sleep state.

S1 Sleep Supported        false
S2 Sleep Supported        false
S3 Sleep Supported        false
S4 Sleep Supported        true

It appears that I cannot even believe the powercfg tools. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the results these reports show.

Also, the bios is set to optimized defaults. They really ought to set the powerbutton to flash like every other major PC manufacturer so that one sees that it is indeed asleep.
