Hi All...
Has anyone managed to remove the motherboard from their GTR 5?
I can't seem to get mine out - the ports at the back seem to obstruct the removal.
I want to put some decent thermal paste on the CPU/GPU

Hello there,

Are you sure you've removed all the screws?
The interior design of the GTR5 5900 is indeed relatively compact, so there will be some difficulties in removing the motherboard, but with some care, it can still be removed.

Please note that if you add thermal paste to the CPU, remember to choose a thinner thermal paste, otherwise the machine may not be able to close.

Have a nice day!

I am sure I have removed all the screws. It feels like there is something on the side where the fans are that is stopping it from coming out.
I have also changed the BIOS setting to use the higher power setting (45W) - and now the machine won't boot and the fans spin at full speed without even getting to the screen where BIOS can be accessed.Pressing the CLR CMOS button does not revert the BIOS back to original settings.
Please help!

UPDATE: I finally managed to get the motherboard out of the case, and I have replaced the thermal paste.
I removed the power cable from the CMOS battery, and that seems to have fixed the power setting that would not let my GTR5 boot earlier.
How can I set the power setting to 45W?
