i also have a ser5 5800h and my pc just updated to windows 11 version 23h2 and I am currently trying to set up a second monitor which is a ASUS VS247 24 inch lcd monitor to my cpu and no matter what I do the cpu will not find and connect to this second monitor which uses an hdmi cable.
I've bought an hdmi to usb converter to see if that would work and it did not.
Then I bought a Hdmi to dp converter and I plugged it in to the dp port in the back of the pc and that did not work as well.
I even unplugged my main monitor and plugged in the ASUS VS247 into the back hdmi port and the cpu does recognize the monitor and it works fine.
So then I tried plugging in my main monitor which is a LG 27MP40W 27 inch, with the usb converter and that did not work.
Then I tried using the hdmi to dp converter and plugged it into the dp port in the back and it will not find or connect to this monitor which is brand new.

i have no clue what else to do

Hello there,
Check if your computer and monitor are compatible with each other. Make sure your computer's graphics card supports the resolution and refresh rate of your monitor.
Try connecting your monitor to a different computer to see if the problem is with the monitor or the computer.
Update your computer's graphics card drivers. You can do this by going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the latest drivers.
Check if your HDMI cable is damaged. Try using a different HDMI cable to see if that solves the problem.
If your computer has multiple HDMI ports, try connecting your monitor to a different port.
Hope it can help you!
