Hello.

I updated my SER7 7840HS BIOS to V31.
The 2nd SSD (behind the bottom cover) has Gen3/4 x2 connection instead of x4 and the half speed.
Everyone has the same problem?

I tried SSDs blow.

SK hynix Gold P31 2TB
(SHGP31-2000GM-2)

WD SN770 2TB
(WDS200T3X0E)

The x2 link speed limitation is done by BIOS?

SK hynix Gold P31 2TB
(SHGP31-2000GM-2)
is recognized as Gen3 x2

WD SN770 2TB
(WDS200T3X0E)
is recognized as Gen4 x2

I tried exchanging these SSDs.
Both should be recognized as x4.

Thanks.

I cleaned up the SSD slot and the connector between the main board and the PCIe extender with contact cleaner.
This problem is solved.

SSDs are recognized as x4 now.

Thank you.
