Will a 2280 SSD with a heatsink fit in this case?  For example the Samsung 990 Pro with heatsink?

It's ok.  I have a more powerful EQ12 and I purchased a SSD without a heatsink.  I am just using a silicon pad.

May I ask you if your EQ12 has the issue of overheating?

No, it does not do much CPU intensive stuff.  I have the main fan set to idle at pwm=80 which is approx 2,400 RPM.  Maintains a CPU temp of 37-38 C.
