SER audio output issues

Hi,


I have installed Linux Mint. Fixed a few issues already but now am stuck.

The front audio jack will not output audio.

There are 4 output options on linux all from
RENOIR RADEON HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO CONTROLLER
They can output from HDMI or displayport only.


The front audio jack is in the input only.
Family 17h 10h-1fh.

I have tested the front jack with headphones (no mic) and speakers but it will not output.

It only outputs through the hdmi.

Is this port an input only or is this a driver issue?

hello, sorry for the trouble.
Please unplug the power supply and HDMI cable. Please try to hit the hole of "CLR CMOS" with a needle or a pin for about 5-10 seconds.Ten minutes later, plug the power supply and HDMI cable, turn on the PC again.
And pls update the driver.

I have the same problem with my SER5 for more than a year, updated BIOS, reset it, etc.

At cold boot, there is no audio from the jack, only HDMI, I then do a reboot and everything is working. Windows or Linux same problem, it is a BIOS problem.

@Magister, did you try it with Linux? Because the 3.5mm audio on my SER5 works fine with Windows 10 & 11. But, it does not work with Linux. I had to connect a separate Bluetooth speaker for Linux.

Yes I'm using MX Linux for more than a year, multiple kernel from 5.x to 6.x. and dual boot win11 from time to time.

A cold boot (after hours, not just a few minutes) in Windows or Linux and there is no sound from audio jack, a simple warm reboot and it's fine.
