Hello,

I received a SER7 a few days ago from amazon and did some benchmarks (@65 W performance mode, Windows high performance plan).

No matter what I try, in the multi-core benchmarks, I stay well below the expected results. For example, in Cinebench 20, a result of 6643 would be expected. I only achieve 4002. 3DMark Time Spy: expected CPU score 10296, I get 8250. The results of all other CPU-heavy benchmarks (Geekbench, Cinebench 23, ...) are also about 20%-40% below the expected results that were measured on the SER7 by early testers a few weeks ago.

That only refers to multi-core benchmarks. In single-core and graphics benchmarks, I achieve the expected and very good results.

I noticed that my device was shipped with the BIOS version SER7PROP5C8V28 (14.8.2023). The BIOS version of a tester was V27 (9.8.2023), maybe something is not okay in the current BIOS? According to HWiNFO, the CPU Turbo frequencies are clearly below what is expected when all cores are under load at the same time.

Has anyone ever run a Cinebench 20 on a SER7 with new BIOS and got results in the 6500?

I am having same issue with multicore score being bad with SER 7 7840hs. I also thought it might be  ...

I had the v30 bios version, I updated to v37 version and I detected continuous computer lock problems during the games and in the photo edition. In addition, some peripherals were no longer recognized.

I requested the v30 version of the bios to support but I'm still waiting, in the meantime I installed the ver28 bios version and all the blocking problems were solved.

However the v30 version for me was the most stable.

Now the temperatures with power mode 65w are very high during the games, arrrivano in some cases at 90 degrees and the core cpu has touched on one occasion 142 degrees!

I opted for balance mode 54w. Are the temperatures so high for you?

The results obtained with Geekbench 6 are as follows: 2320-2500 single core, 12100/12500 multi core

I am having same issue with multicore score being bad with SER 7 7840hs. I also thought it might be bios but I updated to V37 and the multicore performance did not change.

I am getting a Cinebench R23 score of 14.7k instead of 16k- 17k and 3dmark time spy CPU score is 8.8k instead of around 10k

I also notice random freezes in preinstalled windows 11

With V37 bios the Cinebench R23 score decreased to 14.5k and for the first time, I even got a blue screen.

Hello there
All test data is according to Beelink testing results, and the actual performance may vary depending on objective
environmental changes.

Thank you for your answer!

Yes, of course synthetic benchmark results can vary. But if performance is reproducable 40% below expectation, then this is quite noticeable. I just wanted to point out that the clock stretching under load I experience with my unit is on the intense side. A Cinebench MP Ratio of 5.6 is not what you would expect from a 8 core processor. No thermal throttling here, cores are never reaching even 80°.

Single core and graphics performance are both without any restrictions and very good. But especially the crippled all-core turbo performance really hurts, it is not as advertised and not much better than that of my SER5 Pro. Well, maybe this is restricted to my unit/CPU.

My BIOS is V28 (SER7PROP5C8V28), I have read (amazon review) that there is a newer version V29? Is this true and if yes may I politely ask for it?
