I just received the Ser7 7840hs. I encountered a problem during copying, internal ssd after a few seconds or minutes suddenly slows down until you get to 0byte of copy with momentary freezing of the pc, then resumes copying and again drops to 0 bytes, etc. Is it a driver problem? I tried to update everything, but the problem persists. I await an answer to solve the problem. I apologize for my English (I'm Italian). Thank you

Sounds like thermal throttling.  Expose the second M.2 and blow a fan on the SSD.

But the product is new, received from Amazon yesterday. With the HWinfo64 software, fan data is not visible, to check if they are working. I have verified SSD with crystaldiskinfo and ssd is good. How can I fix it?
ssd temperatures during copying are as follows: disk temperature 49, asic controller temperature 57

Those temps are good... were I you, I would reload all the drivers.

You can feel the fan exhaust so that you know the fan is working. HWinfo64 doesn't monitor fan data, but other apps, like Fan Control, do.

I have already reinstalled windows and all the drivers, but the problem is not resolved. I also tried to add a second internal SSD, but again I have the same problem. Tips!? The fans seem to work... (with fan control I can’t verify, or I can’t use it)

If you're within the return window, I would exchange your unit for a new unit.

Hello, I have the exact same problem. The SSD, during quite big writes transfer, is suddenly 100% busy and transfer rates drops from ~2GB/s to ~70MB/s during several seconds.
Did you find any solution about this pb ?

FYI, I added a second nvme same model but with 2TB on the second slot of the 7840HS, and I don't have the pb on this SSD.

Edit: After testing a lot, I finally found that changing back in BIOS from "perfomance" to "balanced" mode seems to solve the pb. Since, I don't reproduce the pb transfering hundreds of GB to the SSD.

Edit: The BIOS was in version v28, after upgrading the BIOS in v31, no more any freeze on the SSD in both "Performance Mode" and "Balance Mode" !

Other members have reported similar problems using some of the Crucial SSDs.  No problems reported with WD, Sabrent, or Samsung SSDs that I recall.
