Did you make the new SSD bootable?
You can press F7 during boot to bring up the boot menu. Then select the drive you want to boot to.
You can change the default boot in the BIOS. There are 5 or 6 drive selections. The PC will boot to the first device it finds in order from 1 to last device listed.
