Ryzen AI IPU disabled?

Does anyone have the AMD IPU Device listed under System devices in Device Manager?

The AMD Inference Processing Unit (IPU) is the new AI built into AMD chips - 7040U and 7040HS series are the first to get it.

The AMD Ryzen™ AI Software Platform allows running AI workloads in PyTorch, TensorFlow, and more using the AI processor on the 7940HS (like in my GTR7 Pro).

Addtionally, "AMD Ryzen AI is now supported in Windows Studio Effects. These effects include Eye Contact (an effect to compensate for eyes looking at the screen instead of the camera), Automatic framing (an effect to automatically zoom and crop the image as you move around), and advanced background effects, including background blur."

I have the latest drivers (ipu_stack_rel_silicon_2308.zip) for Ryzen AI Software Platform 0.8 installed successfully, but the AMD IPU device doesn't show in Device manager.

I'm not sure why the GTR7 Pro has been neutered it seems. I have different vendor's mini 7940HS box with a BIOS setting for the IPU - with it enabled the Ryzen AI IPU is active and showing in Device Manager.

I'm on BIOS V29 (GTRP01_P5C6V29) (with TDP locked at 45W...)

I too don't see it listed even though the driver has installed successfully.

Beelink GTR 7 "Pro" yet AMD IPU device is missing

@tuiguang10, what does your reply mean? Did Beelink intentionally disable it? Or was it omitted from BIOS settings (and similar) by accident and you will reintroduce it?

Hello there,

SER7 and GTR7 can support AI, please contact Support-PC@bee-link.com with picture of your BIOS version and SN , they will send you the BIOS and the driver, so that you can enable IPU .
