I have BIOS 2.22.1282 on a SER5/5800H 16+500G and I do not see the power options to set the CPU to 45W that I read in another thread I should see. Is there a new BIOS that offers that option?

Can you please explain a bit more where in BIOS you set those values. Apprecite your help.

it is here:
Advance->AMD CBS->NBIO Common Option->SMU Common Option->SmartShift Control

Hi there,

You can set the CPU to 45W in the BIOS, but it doesn't make sense, because it will cause high temperature and the power will not be adequate.

I have been able to set the TDP to 45W by setting the sustained, slow and fast ppt power limit to 45W, and increasing the fan speed slope to 2 PWM/C in BIOS.  I was able to achieve much higher 3D Mark score (from 950 to 1300), and higher sustained fps for games (the graphics clock constantly runs at max 2GHz).  HWinfo confirms that the APU is consuming 45W consistently with the CPU temp hovering around 88C, no thermal throttling.  You will have to set the APU-only power limit higher for this level of TDP.
