Hi there, I have been unable to run simple 3D games smoothly even at low graphics setting at 1080p resolution.  Fps usually hover around 40.

I have noticed that the Vega integrated graphic always get throttled due to power limitation (as reported by HWinfo at 35W max), and the graphics clock usually runs at 1.5GHz instead of the 2GHz max on heavy 3D workloads.

I ran 3DMark-TimeSpy and I got a score of 950 with gfx clock running below 1GHz.  The result is too low for Ryzen7 5800H.

Please advise on how to improve graphic performance.

I bought this about 10 days ago from Amazon so I can still return it for a full refund if not resolved.

Thanks

Do you have 45W setting in BIOS? I think CPU is limited by bios on 35W, this is how it acts. I had this CPU on a different mini PC from another company and didn't have any problems with it, I can't say for sure how is Beelink machine. But removing power limit from bios should resolve.

BIOS version: 5800H501
Serial number: SN:D58003EF00397

I suppose my issue is similar to the other thread "SER6 Pro 7735HS iGPU performance throttle"  perhaps a BIOS with higher power for the iGPU (maxed out at 35W hence low game performance) and APU (45W TDP) is needed?  Thanks

I found the settings for APU sPPT, Sustained PPT, Fast PPT and Slow PPT under CBS->NBIO->SMU->SmartShift.  They are set to 54W, 35W, 35W, 35W, respectively.  Do you know if these have any impact on the max power draw of the iGPU?  Thanks again :)

Just put to 54W and see if there is a difference. From what I know, Vega 8 draws only 15W up to 25W, compared to 680M which eats around 45W. You will be fine.

@fxnob, unfortunately this does not make a difference.  The max power draw still maxed out at 35W from the iGPU (as reported by the HWinfo).  HWinfo did report the change of the PPTs so the new values did take effect.  Thanks!!
