Also, make sure you selected 45W Power limit in the bios. I changed mine right away so I don't kno ...

Thanks for the reply. I am definately on the latest BIOS version and have changed the TDP to 45W - however, the temps still jump up to 90°+ when the CPU is stressed and the fan is very loud.

The thing is, I also have a SER4 4800U and I've never had this problem. I've tested the exact same games using the same settings (which the SER4 can handle no problem) and the temps don't get into the 90s and the fan is literally silent.

I've tested a few different games which the SER4 runs fine (as above), but for some reason stresses the SER6.

I bought the SER6 as an upgrade to the SER4 and expected it to noticeable out-perform the older model, so I'm a little confused - let alone disappointed - that I'm having this issue; so much so, that I prefer to use my SER4.

The SER6 has a much better CPU, has better and double the memory (32GB DDR5 vs 16GB DDR4) and a higher TDP (45W vs 25W) so I don't understand why this is happening? I'm starting to think I have a dective model.

I have contacted support about the issue but I thought I'd also post it here in case someone else is having the same issue or can potentially help.

Thank you @mattwu64 for your impressions and all the others writing about their first experiences, its much appreciated!!!

I'm running a SER5 5560U since 4 weeks, but bought the 7735HS as a more powerful alternative. The device already arrived here, but I won't find time this week, probably next weekend.

Seeing the actual situation with the device, I'm not convinced that it's really almost 700€ worth. Being forced to update the bios first, is something which is still acceptable for a new device. But changing the thermal paste and possibly adding an additional fan on the top to get a silent device, was nothing I excepted after I read the advertising about the improved cooling system.

I will definitely follow up every post about the 7735HS this week ;)

In the first place, I need a silent, but powerful system for my home-office/photo tasks - maybe the SER5 Pro with the 5800H Cpu fits my needs sufficiently, power- and noise-wise ;)

Kind regards!

Hello. I have the same problem with high temperature on SER 6 Pro on 7735HS. The fan starts its work at low speed, only after reaching 90 °. Versions: BIOS 1.11, EC FW 1.13

I'm not sending the bios anymore to anyone, please make a request to Support, Service & Repair, @thekorn bricked his 7735HS machine, I tried to help but not everyone succeeds it seems. Maybe he did something wrong, or the flashing didn't finish correctly. So far this bios worked for everyone, including me. That's very unfortunate and I don't wanna ruin my karma with bricking others' mini PC. I will be here still advising and discussing on forum.

That was the reason why I didn't send it to tokenquest earlier! Though he got it from somewhere else flashed it and works for him.
Atfer I got confirmation that the 1.13/1.15 fw is good for 6800H and 7735HS too I sent only to one guy here in the forum...

The problem is not in the bios. The problem is bad, dry thermal paste. I ran into the same. Only after replacing the thermal paste, the temperature stopped jumping to 92+

Thanks for the reply.

Can you tell me which thermal paste you used, please?
I've never applied thermal paste before so any tips would be helpful.
