Hello-

Very excited to use the new mini pcs, however, due to some legacy software need to install Windows 10 until we get the all-clear to move to 11.
Do i need to worry about licensing? Can I use a Win 10 Pro image from a USB?

Under no circumstance would I use these in a professional work environment. Yes you can use a Win Pro image from USB. Make certain you login to your Microsoft Account (Top of Settings Page) on windows 11 before you change to Win 10. It will register your Windows and give you an Active Digital License. When you install your new image - select "I don't have a key" and continue the install. When the install is done - go to Settings again and Login to Microsoft (at top of page) and it will connect your Digital License and Activate your install. You can use Win 10 or Win 11 (any version) You want to get your Image from Windows Media Creation Tool (Not the image from Beelink).

Hi,

So are you saying that it is possible to do the fresh install with USB stick prepared by Windows Media Creation Tool i.e. Windows 11?

I'm looking to download system files, just in case my drive dies or just to do the fresh install, but the comments from the users on this forum suggests that USB stick with installation from microsoft does not install and it needs to be the specific Beelink files for fresh installation.

I already registered the key on my MS account. Can I now simply Windows Media Creation Tool to prepare Win 11 USB stick for installation on my Beelink machine and activate using Digital Licence form my account?

Yes, of course you can use the Windows Media Creation tool and install from a USB device. Not a problem, in fact the preferred method. You want to know what is in your Operating System - only way to know is to get it directly from Microsoft.
