Hi,

I just setup my SER5 5600H box with ubuntu 22.04 few days ago. I noticed my wifi speed is not as good as my other computers. For example, I have a macbook pro + ubuntu 22.04, it has download speed around 500 Mbps, but with this box it can only reach 100 Mbps. It's using the same 5GHz network, I initially thought it's because something wrong with ubuntu. But my macbook pro with ubuntu can reach a good speed. It may be has something to do with the kernel support of Mediatech wireless network card is not good.

(kernel: uname -r
5.15.0-53-generic)

is there anyone noticing the similar slowness ?

Thanks

Hello,
1.Please make sure your wifi signal is full.
2. Make sure that the distance between the PC and the router is less than 6 meters.
3. Go to device manager , click the property of the Intel wifi driver, ---advanced--choose property 802 ac, value also choose 802 ac.

Hi Support-03,
Signal strength is not an issue here since my Ser5 is literally next to the router (less than 3 meters). Also I'm using ubuntu, so there's no device manager. The driver I use is kernel module mt7921e for Mediatek. Should I use an intel wifi driver instead ? I'm confused.

the equivalent tool i can find on Ubuntu called hardinfo, it's odd on hardinfo, the Bit Rate of wireless is shown to be around 500 Mb/s, but I can not get that speed when testing on fast.com, or other internet speed test website. My macbook pro + ubuntu can get 500 Mb/s on those sites.

The issue is probably from ubuntu other than beelink. I saw many posts complaining slow wifi on ubuntu. One thing i found is if you turn off Connectivity Checking and Location Services from Settings -> Privacy, wifi speed increased by 20%. but still slower than it should be

Yes, there have been reports of slow Wi-Fi speeds on some MediaTek wireless network cards, particularly with newer kernel versions. The slowness is likely due to driver or firmware issues related to the MediaTek chipset. The drivers or firmware may not be fully optimized for the newer kernel versions, causing performance degradation.

I have a SER5 since August 2022, I'm running MX Linux AHS on it and have full speed WiFi. The wifi chip was pretty new and first drivers were unstable. Use at least a 6.x kernel (I'm running 6.5.10)

I have the same problem with a Beelink mini PC with AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with the WiFi card from Mediatek de RZ608 Wi-Fi 6E 80MHz. Operational system is Windows 11 Pro. Bad Reception and very slow speed.
In other words big chance it is not Ubuntu but the WiFi card from Mediatek de RZ608 Wi-Fi 6E 80MHz

Hi there
Please try and remove the limit of the network speed .
Press the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog.
Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

Navigate to the network settings.
In the Local Group Policy Editor, expand the following directory:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > QoS Packet Scheduler
Configure the limit settings.

In the right pane, find and double-click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth.
If this setting is set to “Not Configured,” change it to “Disabled.”
Click “Apply” and then “OK.”

And Please try some solutions here :
1.Please make sure your WIFI signal is full.
2. Make sure that the distance between the PC and the router is less than 6 meters.
3. Please uninstall the wifi driver and then resatart the PC to see if it works.
4. Please right click the windows ---setting -troubleshooting ---other toubleshooters--- internet---run , let the PC diagnose the problem and solve it automatically.
5.Please update the driver.  Here is the driver source :https://dr.bee-link.cn/?dir= , click the item model , then you can find the related driver.
6. Go to device manager , click the property of the Intel WiFi driver ---advanced--choose property 802 ax, value also choose 802 ax.

7.CLR CMOS
First, please unplug the power supply and HDMI cable.
Secondly, Please hit the "CLR CMOS" button for about 10 seconds.
Ten minutes later, plug the power supply and HDMI cable, turn on the PC again,
once turn on the PC,  you will need more than one minute to wait for the PC to enter the system.
See if it works.  Please try few more times.

8.Please right click the windows--computer management--double click Services--①Wlan  auto config--start the service, ②WWAN Auto config ---start the service.

9.Go to the windows terminal (admin) >  type in : sfc /scannow > then wait until finished.
