box storage not allowed for drives 2tb or less, option greyed out not available

greetings;

I originally had two hard drives larger than 2TB in my gs-king x system. The options to format is box storage (limit 2tb) or portable storage which allows the full storage ability for drives over 2TB allowing for transferring files and media. Not sure why when I install a 2TB drive the option for box storage is not available.

The drive was formatted on the pc as exfat before installing because when I inserted it originally in the gs-king x it was not recognized.

Using build number 9170P0_wol_bt.

Anyone have android 11 or 12 running on this box?
