Hello,

I have major problems with my GTR 5900HX system. I need the exact steps to do a proper BIOS reset.

I am just asking for a working reset procedure. Please no answers that don't help me, thanks!

Background: Here is my problem. I had Windows 10 on the system, updated to Windows 11 and backed up the disk via Veeam Agent. Windows 11 ran really smoothly. Then I wanted to try Linux, which also worked. When restoring Windows 11 from the backup (Veeam dump), there were massive problems. Windows 11 would not boot, so I tried Windows 10, which also had problems. Both systems cannot find the disk (nVME). The drivers for Windows 11 from Beelink do not contain IO drivers, I have not yet been able to test the drivers for Windows 10. After a restart with one of the Windows 10/11 images, the BIOS blocked. My guess is that Microsoft has set something in the BIOS in Secure Boot. It is similar to when you have Windows running and have to press the SHIFT key.

It is really annoying.

To reset the BIOS... Power on the machine and hit <DEL> repeatedly to enter the BIOS. When in the BIOS, simply go to the "Save & Exit" tab, select "Restore Defaults" then hit <anter>, select "Yes" and bingo! (as shoiwn on the attached jpeg file).

1) Is your NMVe disk is okay?  ...check if you can read/write on it... if not, you may open the mini PC and make sure it is well seated.
2) Windows 10 or 11 Pro or any Linux distros should work just fine. It's a surprising little power machine.

I would suggest to 1) restore the BIOS Defaults then you will still need to install/reinstall Windows 11 Pro or Linux... I can help. Let me know.

Hello there,

You can try these :
1. You can unplug the power supply , press the CMOS button  for about 10 seconds, then turn on the PC after a few minutes.
2. Take out the CMOS battery and put it back after a few hours.

Thanks Support-03... I will eventually try the CMOS button... I'm kinda used to old normal ways to fix machines :)
