Youtube in immersive mode?

Is there a way to get rid of the notification bar when using Youtube Android TV app? Tried some apps that hide the notification bar, but those disable the keyboard and remote functions...

Try using Youtube for TV. I believe it gets rid of the status bar. Try sideloading it from here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube-for-android-tv/. You will have to use the remote to navigate.

hi downloaded youtube app from playstore but will not play vids

That's what I'm using and the notification bar is there all the time...
