Hi, is it possible to install the official Ubuntu 22.04 or does it have to be a special Ubuntu?

I have installed and tested official Ubuntu 22.04 and it works well. I have had to download and install some Libs to make my Zebra printer and EgisTec Touch Fingerprint Sensor work (the sensor not fully working for me -- not stable to fully trust yet).

Enabling Fingerprint Sensor under Ubuntu... The fingerprint Sensor wasn't activated by default after installing Ubuntu. I have installed some Office Apps and Printer drivers... I then installed libfprint 1.94 and did the following steps. Today, the fingerprint sensor works but on and off... If I find something working 100% of the time, I will post it!

Regards,

1) Utilities -> Terminal
2) sudo pam-auth-update
3) Highlight the “Fingerprint authentication” item in the list and press the space bar/key to enable it.
4) Press Tab to highlight the “<Ok>” option and press Enter.
5) Restart your computer to apply this change.
6) To enable Fingerprint login for your user account;
   -> Settings -> Users -> Unlock
7) Click on the “Fingerprint login” button for your account.
8) Enroll your fingerprint(s).

Enabling Fingerprint Sensor under Ubuntu... The fingerprint Sensor wasn't activated by default after ...

Hello, recently installed Ubuntu on my machine. So I am a beginner.

I deed:
2) sudo pam-auth-update
3) Highlight the “Fingerprint authentication” item in the list and press the space bar/key to enable it.
4) Press Tab to highlight the “<Ok>” option and press Enter.
5) Restart your computer to apply this change.
6) To enable Fingerprint login for your user account;
   -> Settings -> Users -> Unlock

After unlocking there is no option for "Fingerprint login". Do I need to do something else? My Ubuntu is 22.04.3 LTS

p.s. tried
sudo apt install fprintd libpam-fprintd
//
fprintd is already the newest version (1.94.2-1ubuntu0.22.04.1).
libpam-fprintd is already the newest version (1.94.2-1ubuntu0.22.04.1).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
//
then:
fprintd-enroll
and I see this message:
//
Impossible to enroll: GDBus.Error:net.reactivated.Fprint.Error.NoSuchDevice: No devices available
//

Check your device (from lsusb):

Bus 003 Device 004: ID 1c7a:0577 LighTuning Technology Inc. Fingerprint Sensor

There are NO drivers existing for this device in Linux.  It is useless. Either the other poster has different hardware, or is providing false hope by stating it works.

I pretend my fingerprint sensor does not exist and am happier for it, rather than being upset that its not supported.
