I just purchased two U59 with 16gb ram to replace my aging VMWare ESXi server.
I am running into:
- Sporatic reboots of both machines (hypervisor)
- Guest VMs running on both machines
I cannot find anything in the Proxmox linux logs that indicate why the reboots are happening. I also have an old Lenovo laptop running Proxmox and it never experences any reboots at all. I even tried to migrate some VMs over to it and they don't reboot.
I see that other people are having similar issues and it could be because of high cpu or temperature issues.
In my BIOS I have:
- Disabled turbo
- Disabled c states
- Disabled RTH (race to halt)
- Enabled XMP Profile 1
As for the fan, I never hear it go very high and the bios says it is running around 2k RPM.
Anyone have any ideas what else I can try? It is getting REALLY anoying having my hypervisors and VMs reboot all the time!
Thanks
