I have been going back & forth with Beelink Support for more than a week (23 emails and counting for a BIOS update question) and now I am hoping maybe one of their users knows more than they do.

I have a GTR5 that I use to run Proxmox virtualization environment.  It is based on Debian 11.

I noticed that even when the CPU is running low, <1%, the fan still runs loudly.  I asked about this and they said a BIOS update might fix it.

Unfortunately, nobody at Beelink Support has a clue about anything other than Windows.  I keep explaining that I need something for Linux or something I can boot from.  Nobody know what I mean and they keep seidng me Windows instructions.  I finally get someone to comprehend that I need boot media and a process.  They send me files but the update doesn't work because 2 critical files are missing.  I look through their scripts and tell them exactly which files are missing and they want me to shoot a video of the process failing, as if they aren't able to test their own instructions themselves.  So ridiculous.  After I told them NO I wll not shoot them a video for something they could reproduce for themselves, the latest guy once again asks me the most basic questions instead of reading the email thread and is suggesting I use the Windows update tool....  At this point I am fed up with them.

So now I have the updated BIOS bin file but I don't have a way to install it because the procedure is missing two files: eFuitX64.efi and FEC64.NSH.  Even after I tell them several times that I need those two files, they just ignore me and keep talking about Windows.

Can anyone help me?

Hello. My computer is the 3550 (GR5) model, like yours, I think, right? Where do you say that those two bios files are located?

I have the GTR5 with Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU.  They sent me a link to the Windows updater and the 1.24 BIOS.  I can't use them since I don't run Windows.  Then they sent me a bootable USB config but it was missing the actual program that updates the BIOS, eFuitX64.efi.  It was also missing FEC64.NSH which simply runs eFuitX64.efi with the BIOS image as a command-line option.  The update script checks for these two files and aborts if they are not found.  I can't seem to get anyone at Beelink to understand me.  They just keep asking me for my BIOS version and then they send me the same Windows stuff again and again.

My computer is Ryzen 5, it won't be compatible in the bios like yours, right?
Do not expect help from BEELINK, hopefully the users will help you.

I'm so new to these units that I have no idea if they're compatible like that.  I managed to find a copy of eFuitX64.efi and I can hack up my own FEC64.NSH but I'm afraid to run it because if it's wrong, it might brick my GTR5 which cost me $1500.

Yes, I am very disappointed in Beelink Support.  They don't seem to know what they're doing and they don't read your emails.  25 emails back & forth (so far) just to flash a BIOS and I'm no further ahead than I was 10 days ago.  If I posted the entire thread, you would be amazed at the incompetence.

It just seems that they have put computers up for sale and ignore everything else. We already know that they are not ASUS or HP, for example, but less than providing solutions to absolutely everything that has to do with their computers. Hope you can fix the bios issue.

The frustrating part is that they sent me a video that shows that they have a way to update BIOS via bootable USB.  It boots a Linux efi image and then runs a script.  But for whatever reason, they sent me files that have the boot efi but not the program that writes the BIOS (eFuitX64.efi).  That's the only missing piece of the puzzle and I can't get any of them to understand me.  You get a different guy every time you email, and I can't go directly to the one guy who knew about the boot image method.  They go online at 10pm my time so I don't have much of a window to email them before I go to bed myself.

GTR5/GR9 5900HX BIOS v1.24 has all it takes to upgrade from Windows and Linux.

Linux command line;
AfuEfix64.efi AZW_SODIMM_5xxx_GTR_V1.24_bLink_P4C5M43_94C_5900Hx_20220608.BIN /p /b /n /k /L /x /REBOOT
