Greetings,
My name is Demetris and i am part of Batocera developer team. After the generous contribution from Beelink i am proud to present you a test image for the upcoming v33 stable release for the GT-KING android box.
I need to be clear that we are still far from a stable release and much can be changed or altered and with your help we can squash all the bugs before we reach the code freeze state.
Without further delay you can download the image here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=7161016148664831004

Thanks for your work, we are glad to see you here.
I downloaded your image and flashed it to an SD card but it did not boot.
I tried with an usb drive it did not boot too.
So what are the instructions to boot your image properly?
I went full with mainline support in everything so amlogic scripting using the old uboot(bootloader version) on the emmc wont be able to boot this image
Uboot is the latest 2021.10
Kernel is the latest lts one 5.10.74
And for GPU driver the latest stable mesa3d version 21.2.4 is used
I would recommend to extract the image on a usb drive boot into the included sdcard with coreelec and flash the image with dd on the emmc
Something like this should work fine
dd if=image.name.img of=/dev/mmcblkX bs=1M && sync
image.name.img = batocera extracted image
/dev/mmcblkX = X being the internal emmc number
I don't like the idea of flashing third party firmwares to emmc.
In my opinion official firmware must be on emmc and others can be on SD/USB.
It is a better and safer solution for all users, if you don't like the 3rd party firmware you tried just remove SD/USB and reboot.
Beelink officially supports only their own build Android firmwares. If any user has problem flashing 3rd party firmware and brick the device it will be out of warranty.
Please make your builds to run from SD or USB drives to make it safer.
You can choose not to flash to emmc then.
About "Beelink officially supports only their own build Android firmwares"
Why on earth they should support any 3rd party firmware they have no power upon?
Flash batocera on the emmc try it and if you dont like it feel free to go back to official android by amlogic burn tool.
Why you think you will brick the device? Both images(GTking>kingPro) are tested and verified working fine
We don't fool around with peoples hardware. What you claim here is a bit offending to the whole opensource world because you dont want to do it doesn't matter to anyone than you.

As this image uses mainline u-boot which is similar to your Ubuntu-Impish image which also uses the mainline u-boot. May be adding a chainloader u-boot.ext might work?
As you can see in the screenshot my other post in GT-King-Pro forum is still pending a ...
