Hi,
So I went back to the 5.4.166 kernel which starts without "u-boot.ext" and very well.
The "armbian-tf" command works fine with the possibility of extending the main partition or creating a new one.
the "armbian update 5.4.167" command allowed me to upgrade the kernel without any problem ..
I tested the "armbian-docker" command which worked very well with installation of "portainer" in impeccable Lan access everything worked well ..
This firmware 5.4 is a good way to install armbian quickly and efficiently on the GT-King Pro, hoping that @beelink can optimize their u-boot to allow us to start more easily firmware> 5.10

Good to know GT King Pro works well with Armbian for S9xxx with 5.4.167-flippy-68+ kernel without having to use the chainloader u-boot.ext.

The interesting part is with the chainloader u-boot.ext it encounters occassional kernel panic during boot up process with kernel 5.10.y-flippy-xx+.  So far I had encountered similar to what you are facing with the following kernels and with chainloader u-boot.ext:

linux-aml-5.13-rc5-1 - Cannot boot at all
linux-vim-5.14.y or linux-vim-5.15.y - Occassional Booting Process Freeze (quite frequent) and Random Freeze after successful Bootlinux-image-amlogic-mainline 5.12.0 from Khadas - Occasional Booting Process Freeze but seems stable after Boot up
So may be a new one on the list 5.10.y-flippy-xx+ and 5.15.y-flippy-xx-

@beelink can optimize their u-boot to allow us to start more easily firmware> 5.10

Yes hope @beelink can resolve this issue.  Ugoos u-boot bootloader seems to be more friendly with linux mainline kernel from what I have read.

I don't think @beelink has been doing anything since then.
So maybe we should turn to a custom android rom. Before there was freaktab.com but I can no longer access this site. On the other hand, I discovered slimbox tv
https://slimboxtv.ru/glavnaya/beelink-gt-king-pro/
their firmware even offers the OTA update .. on the other hand not sure that this solves our problem of booting on the kernels> 5.10 but it is to be tested.

Has anyone tested whether SlimboxTV support multiboot and also the u-boot bootloader is linux mainline kernel friendly?

Hi @gtkingpro.ac2n,

FYI, this meveric kernel https://oph.mdrjr.net/meveric/pool/main/l/linux-upstream/linux-image-5.15.10-arm64_5.15.10-20211220-odroid_arm64.deb  from https://oph.mdrjr.net/meveric/pool/main/l/linux-upstream/ seems stable and boot up on balbes150 Armbian-Bullseye with the chainloader u-boot.ext (https://yadi.sk/d/ZMQW85B-P6QejA).  Currently have both linux-image-current-meson64 (5.10.79-meson64 v21.08.4) and meveric kernel 5.15.10-arm64 installed.  Both seems stable and boot up all the time.  Meveric kernel 5.15.7-arm64 also boot up on @darkstar Ubuntu Impish.

You can try meveric kernel 5.15.10-arm64 on the Armbian for S922X with the chainloader u-boot.ext and see whether you can consistently boot up.  Back up your 5.4.167 uInitrd, initrd.img, Image or zImage first so you can revert back to kernel 5.4 just in case the meveric kernel does not boot up on Armbian for S922X image.

Hi @JFL,
I did it .. flash from my beelink gt-king pro under slimboxTv firmware, this rom is nice and can start Coreelec and armbian 5.4 without problem (requires root first, but easy it is an option in the settings "slimboxtv")
Unfortunately impossible to start 5.10 I always have this problem of freeze before the usb start, and even by forcing the reboot (unplug / plug power) no start ..

freeze when using u-boot-gtkingpro.bin as u-boot.ext

freeze when using u-boot-gtkingpro.bin as u-boot.ext

I tried again with the u-boot.ext taken from manjaro that passes the USB start but is not suitable because there are lots of errors afterwards ..
Strangely enough with @beelink's 918PO firmware by forcing the reboot I still managed to start 5.10 while with the SlimboxTv firmware it still freezes as in the photo ..
My TV directly displays this image without counting down for the "stop autoboot" while when the boot was working I had the count 3 - 2 - 1 - 0 which was displayed then the USB start was done without problem ..

I try but exactly same result as you can see on image, I try but I can't boot this, from ophub firmware.
