I was wondering if its possible to remove the root function from this device via an OTA update?

i've tried everything from attempting to hide the fact its rooted to trying to manually remove it.

anyone have any advise?

Couldn't remove it myself, nor hide it via suhide or any other method. Beelink please provide the option to unroot.

Hi,

I was disappointed as well after realizing that the v104 version pushed by Beelink as OTA actually rooted my device without my explicit permission or request.
And as a results many of my legit applications stopped working. My quick solution was to manually rollback to v103 .

I wrote to Beelink support and asked to change this policy of rooting the device by default.

Here is a manual method provided by Beelink support to manually unroot a device (I haven't tested it ):

How to remove root from your GT1 device:
1. install "ES file manager" and turn on.
2. open "Root Explorer".
3. find  Local > Device > system > xbin > su and daemonsu, then delete.
4. reboot the device.

Notice: after this procedure you will not be able to get OTA updates and will have to update your device manually (until you move back to the original version)

In the future, Beelink promised to implement this function.

I received the same email to unroot the box..
One question, if I unroot the box if there is a new update can I update the box manually and then unroot it again with those steps?
I cant watch bein sports because I get a message that my device is rooted.
Beelink should make an update whether you want to root it or not

Installed the latest unroot firmware but still many applications detect the box as rooted. Ran Safetynet test via safetynet helper application and it fails. Please release a proper fully unrooted firmware with out busybox etc. Please run a safetynet test and see if it can pass. I am still not able to run my paid TV applications on this box since it is getting detected as rooted.

Many thanks in advance.

I tried several things here trying to hide or disabling/uninstalling root. I tried deleting su and daemonsu, which results in a soft brick in boot screen. So, i got a USB A-A cable and restored to 106 Unrooted, but my TV apps continues to detects my device as rooted. I flashed 106 rooted, installed xposed+rootcloak = continues to detect as rooted device. Tried hide my root, the same. So... now i am stucked in 106 rooted, and cant watch my tvs as all apps detects it as rooted devices.
Any suggestions?

Hi, I tried this firmware and it works perfectly for me. But there is a problem when connecting to a Philips TV, the infamous green screen. Is there a newer firmware available, like the 107, 108, 109, 110 that is also unrroted like this one?
