U57 no webcam audio

I've purchased usb webcam to use with my U57 and I've plugged it into one f the USB ports. I get picture fine, but the webcam's built-in microphone isn't working. I've plugged it into a different computer, and the microphone worked flawlessly, so it seems like the issue rests with the U57. What is the secret to getting my webcam microphone working with the U57?

EDIT: My monitor has its own speakers, and I thought they might be interfering somehow, so I changed to a different monitor with no speakers. Same issue, webcam is not recording audio, only on this computer. It's definitely an issue with the U57. Can anyone help?

could you try when you unplug the usb receiver, whether the situation will happen again？

I've tried that - unplugged the usb wireless receiver and plugged in a wired keyboard and wired mouse - still no microphone audio.

Have you installed the driver and what model is your camera microphone used?

When you plug in the device, take a look at the device manager, whether there is any device displayed in the audio input and output

There is no driver for the webcam, it's a plug & play usb device. I plug it into a different computer, and it just works. The webcam is fine.
