i cant turn the box on with this remote once you shut down from the menu the box won't wake up with the remote power button in corelec , you have to unplug the box and plug it back in again to wake it up, there are no buttons to program on this very basic remote,any help would be much appreciated

Try on coreelec forum. There you will find an remote.conf file which you will need to paste in coreelec config folder. After reboot, remote shall be work.
