I read that the name of the file we should rename can also be libdrmdecrypt.so. Look for a file named lib*crypt.so and rename it. I will try this when I will be home. Another solution would be to uninstall the Play Store version and install this apk https://help.netflix.com/en/node/24776,

There is a /system/lib/libcrypto.so there. Rename it to libcrypto.so.bak or anything you want and Netflix will stream properly, definitely more than SD. It is looking nice on my fullHD TV (I have the fullHD plan, not the ultraHD).

I tried this and the error is gone after the dark scene 4k video workaround.

It runs well enough on my fullHD TV. I am not 100% sure it is HD, but as I said, it looked good enough on my TV. It is better than not to be able to run it at all.

I tried to rename libcrypto.so and slas I said the error in Netflix after theb4k vídeo workaround goes away. But the box can't restart, as it stops in the boot sequence. I'll have to reinstall the firmware with the SD card...

Just to underline what I've said. For me, renaming the libcrypto.so to libcrypto.so.bak although fixing de Netflix error after playing a 4k video (it's the only way I have this error Netflix works fine otherwise),  results in a problem with the boot in the GT1. I tried twice to do this and when I restart the box it doesn't start. Even if I do a factory reset it sticks in the boot sequence. I always have to reinstall the firmware via SD card.

I have not rebooted because I gave up on my GT1, but I will try again today when I get home because the other device I bought is not doing any better than the GT1. Try beelink gt1 superceleron ROM from freaktab, it fixes a lot of the issues with the official ROM (it is based on 1.0.6 and only for models with 9377 WiFi/BT chipset (SN starts with S912 or G912, if I remember correctly).

Well, I can't use it because mine is A912. Right now I'm doing OK with the box. I use Netflix from my TV app in 1080p. I only use the GT1 Netflix in my room sometimes. In Kodi and TV provider apps I don't have any problem. I tried this because the image seems a little dark in Netflix.

I flashed the SuperCeleron firmware. It is a little too customized for my taste, it is not such a big difference. The main big difference is that Netflix does indeed work without any other modifications. Try renaming the old libcrypto.so to libcrypto.so.bak and creating an emptry libcrypto.so file in its place (with the same access rights as the original file). Maybe Android is just looking for it. The custom firmware did not have any libcrypto library in its system (the guy that made the firmware did mention something about Google Widevine).
