Not sure what your remote looks like but I bought an Android air mouse remote for mine and had the same problem. But my remote has a TV red button on it to put it in TV mode so you can program it for your tv. So I put it in tv mode and then programmed the power button to the GT King. So now I push the TV button then push the power button to turn the GT King on the I push the TV button again to take it out of tv mode.
