Despite what GearBest initial response to you was, you still have options to consider. If you really want your box repaired be insistent with them. I find it easier to get anything done with GearBest via the Live Chat feature on their site. Just make sure to print/email the chat log after for proof.
1. Consider, is it cheaper/less hassle to pay for return shipping plus the time it will take to get it fixed and re-shipped to you vs taking the partial refund and getting a new GT1 or a different box. It might be cheaper/easier for GearBest to just issue you a partial refund, that's why they made the offer to you first. You might not want to agree with the last part but that's how the reseller game usually works.
2. If you paid by PayPal you can open a dispute with them. I've only had to go this route once and it ended in my favor.
3. If you paid direct with a credit card see my previous reply to you.
