I installed the latest debian linux on my J45 (8GB/256GB) to run iobroker for smart home on it. This part works good so far. I also mounted network shares on my local Synology NAS via NFS. I can stream Youtube videos in a browser, stream content from german tv stations of teh web,  copy files from the NFS share to the 256GB SSD. But every time the network crashes, when I stream video from the NFS share. I tried Kodi or the linux video player totem.

The whole network is unreachable. Ethernet and Wifi also! Every time! The network is fast enough. I get 100MBit/s down via Ethernet and 150MBit/s via Wifi! I end up having to reboot the J45 to get it up again. Any idea what it could be? Is there a linux driver for the network components?

*UPDATE* Copying files also made the network crash just now on the J 45 :(

I found that Debian Buster and Ununtu 19 didn't like the SSD in the J45. Running the OS from internal HD is fine. I am using Ubuntu server 18.04 on the SSD and all good.

I'm having that same issue reported by iobrokermgm... I had everything working fine here but now I started experiencing intermittent loss of connectivity that resumes out of the blue...

I'll try to investigate what might have been causing it as I prefer Debian over Ubuntu... and my system setup is complete and working the way I expected apart from this annoying issue

Hi, I tried to dual boot on my Gemini J and found the same problem of loss of connectivity in Linux Mint 19.2 both by ethernet and Wi-Fi.

When I booted with Windows 10 or with Live MINT everything was fine :o

Any ideas to solve it?

Hi, I tried to dual boot on my Gemini J and found the same problem of loss of connectivity in Linux  ...

Apparently the issue is with the NetworkManager service in Debian, some people reported fixing it by uninstalling that service - which I've done on my end and so far so good - it's being like 30 mins and still no disconnection... But can't say for sure that fixed it or not yet...

FYI,I solved the problem installing the packages r8168-dkms_8.047.04-1_all.deb (you can easily google it) and everything goes fine.
