Still battling for the money return from Ali Ant Tech Store.
Not only he did not shipped anything, but provided the tracking number for someone's else order in my country, even made about the same time!
After I opened a dispute with the clear evidence, he has tried to lure me to cancel it:

we could give you a full refund and Could you please kindly confirm that your order has been received? After that, please remind us after 15 days and we will ask the platform to refund you directly, do you agree on that? We are conscientious seller, please don't worry, we must be responsible for you. hope your kind understanding.

i bought x45 (6gb ram / 128gb ssd) on ali for $150 during 11.11 sale, great price and x55 is only 10% faster.

I need 8Gb RAM so x45 is not an option as it is not upgradable.

i have a few devices with low-end cpu like n3450 / m3-6y30 and 4/6gb ram and on task manager i never saw more then 4gb used during normal work with office / browser, but i don't do gaming / graphics at all ;)

I've finally got all my money back from Ali. The last seller was the worst.
I've found much better J4105 alternative from one of the brand names for the same money and bought everything locally with manufacturer warranty.

It has:
Two proper M2 PCIe slots, so Wifi is replaceable and I've installed the fast ADATA 256Gb NVMe SSD instead the ancient SATA noname one!
Daisy link capable DP, HDMI 2.0, up to three monitors in total.
1x USB C, + 3x USB 3.0
SODIMM DDR4 RAM up to 32Gb. Yes, J4105/J5005 actually supports up to 32Gb!
Normal BIOS!

Does it allow Windows 7 and/or any version of Linux besides Ubuntu to be installed?

Gigabyte GB-BLCE-4105 It was $109 on Amazon, now sold out.Newegg still has it for $119 + free 120Gb SATA SSD

Not interested in Linux/Win7, so I do not know it will be possible. All I know it is AMI UEFI GUI/Shell BIOS.
The one downside it is not fanlees, but it is dead silent under average load like browsing/video playing.
And there is a bug in the current BIOS version, I have to disable sleepmode or fan goes on high speed after waking up.
No problem for me as the power consumption is negligible.
