Can't get suround sound on GT1

Hello everyone,

I'm  new to this forum and this is my first post here.
Please forgive me if there is already a post similar to this one and kindly provide a link to the thread.

I got the GT1 box and whatever I do, I can't get 5.1 suround sound out of it.
It is directly connected to an HDMI port on my receiver and settings are all pointing it to use HDMI for sound.

When I start a Netflix movie (downloaded the Netflix Android App), it works on stereo. If I cast the same movie to my Chromecast (which is connected to a different HDMI port on my receiver), it works on all 6 channels.

Why can't I get it to work on 6 channels directly from the GT1 box without having to cast it to my Chromecast?
