Thermal Pad on NVMe SSD

There is a thermal pad on the NVMe SSD in my BeeLink SER5. There is no metal heat sink, just the pad.  
Does the pad alone provide any thermal benefits without a heat sink?

Hello there,

If there is no metal radiator, the heat dissipation silicone attached to the SSD has the same function of cooling the SSD.

If the SSD has heat problems during use, you can try to replace the cooling silicone.
