Read with interest on your works on Manjaro and look forward to your sharing of Manjaro image for GT King Pro.

I did some research on HP Printer Drivers and HPLIP in that some HP LaserJet Printers might need binary plugin.

(b) Required HPLIP version > repository HPLIP version
If one sees that Min. HPLIP Version is greater than the version of the HPLIP package from repository, then then one needs to install binary HPLIP by following my other answer.

(o) Optional HPLIP binary/proprietary plugin/driver
If one sees that Driver Plug-in is set to yes (or required), then one needs to install the binary/proprietary plugin/driver by following my other answer.

Will have to check further whether my HP LaserJet 1020 falls in this category which means I need to install plugin in order for it to Print.  I just check the Debain Buster have HPLIP version 3.18.12 already installed.  But LaserJet 1020 does not print so may be it need the plugin installed.

I read with interest on your new Debian 10 image with Kernel 4.9.232 and being able to support 4K /30fps.  The current Debian 10 that I downloaded from your link, when I play video at resolution 1080p (not sure what the fps was) not that smooth and quite a fair bit of buffering (not sure whether it is due to my internet Wifi connection).  That particular video at 720p is was Ok.

Would you be kind enough to share the Debian 10 image with the Kernel 4.9.232? Love to give a try. Thank you.

Hi Spikerguy & Darkstar,

My take is that even if the project is open source, it might be a good idea to optimize using GPU/VPU drivers (as options) if it gives a better outcome, just purely from engineering perspective.  I hope I am not stepping on someone toes.

Of course I will release new firmware but not this one,  It needs some work to do.
There are good news about bifrost drivers, it is actively in development stage.

spikerguy's and manjaro's aproach is best solution for S9XX as next step.
Mainline kernel support guarantees future developments for this device.

Finally, able to print from the LaserJet 1020.  Well it need a hplip plugin to get it to work. Only with the plugin installed and connection to hplip can setup/configure thet LaserJet 1020 to print.  Need to install hplip-gui too.  The downside is after installing hplip-gui (take up a fair bit of disk memory 174MB) and HP Tools come installed too.  All I needed is just the LaserJet 1020 driver (plugin).

I wonder whether the Android printing issue was due to no plugin but in Android according to HP Support, HP Printing Service app was required which was installed but it did not work LaserJet 1020.

I tried some YouTube trailers at 1080p/60fps.  It works with about (Viewport / Frames
1920x1080 / 1622 dropped of 12509).  My earlier issue of jerky at 1080p could have been due to internet connection.

I have this issue on Debian 10 (Chromium Browser preinstalled with the package) playing video that I don't on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (FireFox preinstalled with the package).  In Debian 10 (now is Debian 10.5) in Chromium when I play a video the sound/voice sounded like it is being speed up by 2x or 3x eventhough the Audio Speed is Normal (1X) and I am getting a lot of dropped frames in 1080p/60).  Is it due to some setting issues?  I tested a number of YouTube videos and all the same (the voice is sounded funny like being played at 2x or 3x the speed).  There are few or no dropped frames at 720p/60 but the sound/voice is still incorrect.  One example ot the video, “KDE PLASMA Desktop vs Xfce Desktop – Resource Usage Comparison | 2020 Edition”.

Same video played on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Firefox) no issue, the voice is normal and at 1080p/60 NO dropped frames.  Debian 10 on Xfce 4.12 and Ubuntu 20.04 on Xfce 4.14.

Checking whether you experienced the same issue on Debian 10 playing videos where the sound is sounded funny and high dropped frames at 1080p/60.  What could be the issue?

Hi Darkstar,

Just reinstalled Debian 10 image and performed "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y". After the successful update & upgrade the Debian is now Debian 10.5 and Chromium Version 83.0.4103.116.  Tested the same YouTube video, “KDE PLASMA Desktop vs Xfce Desktop – Resource Usage Comparison | 2020 Edition”running at 1080p/60, 720p/60, 480p, 360p and other YouTube video all have the same funny voice like being played at much higher speed (2x or more) and all even at low resolution 360p still have high dropped frames.  At first I thought it was only hi-res 1080p/60 video but same issue for low-res video too.

Further information on Debian 10.  Burn new Debian 10 Buster image on SDHC again. This time did not perform any update or upgrade.  Start Chromium and check About Chromium before any update and upgrade to Debian, "Version 80.0.3987.162 (Developer Build) built on Debian 10.3, running on Debian 10.4 (64-bit)".  Test with the same YouTube video and still the same issue, funny voice and high dropped frames even in low-res 360p.  Maybe the funny voice is due to the high dropped frames not sure.  Chromium compatibility issue or my Debian file image is corrupted?  By the way the Desktop Environment is Xfce.
