Yes but this idea only works so long as the GTR6 motherboard has the connector for a GTR5 SATA cable... which I bet it probably doesn't. Why would it? I'd buy the GTR6 barebone and install M.2 1TB system SSD and 2TB storage SSD. I'm just calling out the misleading mistake on the GTR6 specs.
I like your idea with your GTR5 to create a breathable gap using the nylon spacer washers, so the fan you installed can pull air in.. It's an inventive active cooling solution.. thanks for sharing it. Whether or not making a gap or removing the bottom base plate is required for the GTR6's fan I don't know.. You'd think they'd have designed and tested it so this unconventional step would not be necessary.
