Installation of Dutch version of Windows 11 version 22h2 ended in this screen. Looking at it you see the Kingston drive selected ( Station 0 Partition 3) but at the bottom you see the message:

Windows setup kan geen harde schijf vinden om tijdellijke installatiebestanden op te slaan. Voeg een nieuw lokaal, niet verwisselbaar station toe en probeer windows opnieuw te installeren.

Meaning in English : Windows Setup couldn't find a hard drive to store temporary installation files to.  Add a new local, non-removable drive and try installing Windows again. Strange....

So I pressed "vernieuwen" (refresh) and this is what I got (bad picture sorry):

Windows all drives gone.jpg

empty pane: no drive anymore.

?????

Problem solved.

Windows 11pro NL version 22h2 installed without any problems at all on the Samsung 980 500GB NVME SSD. The WD RED 500GB SATA SSD works also fine.

I did some updates, installed some drivers an installed Microsoft Office, Firefox etc. No Problems at all.

So all the time it was the Kingston NV1 SSD that was causing the problems. Could also be the motherboard, but thank god it is not.

Now I hope to get a refund from Beelink for that bad Kingston NV1 SSD. Wish me luck!

It looks like you have a problem with the SS ...

Well, nighthawk already walked us through how he solved this problem by swapping out the bad Kingston NV1 SSD for the Samsung 980 and the case is closed according to his last post.. Just now waiting if he updates on the refund situation from Beelink for the defective Kingston NV1 SSD that caused him so much grief.

A small update:

  • Beelink (George aka support-03) has offered to send me a new SSD. I think I will accept it or maybe I ask for a small refund instead. Still thinking about it. Anyway, at this point Beelink seems to want to resolve this.

  • Since last week my GTR5 is running fine:  it is a joy to work with. No crashes, no freezing, etc. Installed a bunch of programs and transferred GB's of data from my old computers to it. It all went smooth and easy. There is a one minor problem: the fingerprint sensor. Still working on solving that.
