so then did we get a clear answer to the GTR-6 disc question. is the exploded view wrong  on the web site and the base does have the 2.5 hdd slot or not?

also when it says max of 2TB is that a total of all drives or is that per drive?

is this another error in the specs "2.5 inch SATA HDD (SATS 3.0 6.0 GB/s)" the only SATA 3.0 6.0 GB/s that i am finding are all ssd's?

so then did we get a clear answer to the GTR-6 disc question. is the exploded view wrong  on the web ...

I've been doing a bit more digging on this 2.5 inch SATA tray and found what I believe the GTR6 will be like. Below is an exploded view of the new Beelink SEi12 Intel 12thGen Mini PC. It too has a lower cooling fan for cooling the internal components, and it shows that the 2.5 inch SATA HDD tray is on the outside of the plastic fan bracket, then gets covered by the base plate.

Further to this I found a recent review of the SEi12 on YouTube by a Hong Kong channel. He removed the base plate to look inside. Below is an actual image that shows where the 2.5 inch SATA HDD gets installed. I'm pretty sure that this how it will be packaged in the GTR6, and so yes, I believe the GTR6 exploded view picture is early and incomplete.

Not sure if mounting a 2.5 inch HDD over the intake fan will impede it's performance to push air onto the inside RAM and m.2 SSD components ? It looks like it will block the airflow from this small cooling fan making it ineffective.

As for storage sizing, I believe both m.2 SSDs are limited to 2TB each. I am not sure if there is a size limitation for any 2.5 inch SATA HDD or SSD and if it can be greater than 2TB. Perhaps Beelink can provide us with an answer to this question ? Thanks !

Question for Beelink. What's the maximum thickness of the 2.5 inch HDD/SSD that can be installed in the GTR6 ?
Is it limited to 7mm max, or can a 9.5mm thick mechanical HDD be installed ?

My 2 cents on 7mm only. Even if possible, who would put an old, slow, and 9.5mm in a power house ~2023-style machine?
I'm still using large storage mechanical drive with USB to SATA cable... in a USB enclosure.

Some ppl may want to reuse an old 2TB mechanical drive they have laying around for cheap(er) internal media storage (if it can fit).. others may prefer a 7mm SSD.. but if they choke off the intake airflow to that tiny cooling fan.. it may not be worth installing any 2.5 inch drive at all !

I don't agree but understand and respect your point of view. I would not use such powerful machine with old and slow 5400RPM drives to save few bucks. I would use such old and slow drives as external USB drives (using enclosure or cable) to access old files/folders.

I wouldn't worry too much about the cooling fan as I'm sure I can handle it. I would add double-sided heat transfer silicone pads just like I'm presently doing with my GTR5.

I understand your point too. But I'm just asking Beelink what's the max thickness for the 2.5 inch SATA drive in the GTR6, not for your opinions.

well as Beelink has not responded to any of the questions sounds like the best approach is going to be wait and see once it is actually available instead of going by opinions. i do not see why Beelink is not clearing up this matter if they wish to get pre-order of this unit.
