It would be strange to you but my U57 is very silent. I bought it on December 5th.
It may be that mine is a different version.

To make a comparison I had an iMAC; they are famous to be silent. Well, my U57 is as silent as the iMAC.
This is the first reason why I am so satisfied of U57.

Is there news from the Staff about this problem?
I have the same problem. Often even if CPU is at 15% usage and temperature is just 38/39°C the fan is start working at maximum. It is a very annoying problem watching videos or just surfing with the browser. The fan changes throttles several times every minutes (low > medium > max > low > medium > max ecc...).
Thanks

Hi Paolo,

It is very interesting for me to read that your U57 is so silent...
Would you mind posting a photo of the BIOS and EC version?
Or at least add a reply with the version numbers,
the versions are shown on the BIOS "Main" tab.

Most interesting are:
Core version: (I'm running now be 5.011)
BIOS Version (mine is VB1 0.04 x64)
EC Version (mine is 0.008 [07/07/2020])

Maybe you've really got an upgraded version already?

Anyway for all the others out there:
I'm just writing the DIY guide for adding a fan controller.
It's working flawlessly and stable for me, even under highest stress using CPU benchmarks.
Under no load the system is really silent and even under full stress the fan noise is fine.
The good news is: the Beelink team used a good quality fan. Full speed is definitely not required to cool that thing.

BR, Chris

There are two different rear grille layouts.
I have received  this one from Banggood:

But on Amazon someone received this model:

Do you think it can affect the noise level? Thanks

I have received  this one from Banggood:

Hi zuppi,

I have also ordered from Banggood on 2nd of November from HK Warehouse and received the 2nd one -- the one with "only 3 big openings on rear outlet".
Interestingly, the photos on Banggood website also show the other (probably older) version with the "grill on backside":
https://www.banggood.com/Beelink ... s-10-p-1666058.html

Regarding noise: the less resistance the airflow has, the better it should be.
So I would expect less noise if you have only 3 big openings instead of the "grill".

But there is another thing I had modified after I installed the extra fan controller:
The inside of the side air-inlet openings contain a plastic sticker with tiny holes to prevent too much dust getting into it.

BUT: that also causes a lot less airflow, so the fan has to turn faster -> more noise.
I would consider you remove that plastic foil, letting more air in.
If should give you better cooling and thus less noise in any case.

BR, Chris

I do not know if these are the information you request.
Bios is VB 1004 10/06/2020
SMBIOS: 3.0

I think Beelink engineers solved this problem. In my PC the fan increases only when PC works harder.

CPU temperatures: 36 °C.
