Are we ever going to get back the advertised TDP of 65W? No, "maximum efficiency" of 65W is not what we were sold.

??? Is the proper way to do it: ???

Change SPL Control to Manual

Hi i have the normal GTR7 im on BIOS Version 29. The Mini PC has a Power Limit of 54W at Start. I tried your Setting and used 65000 but it didt not changed anything (i test with Cinebench to see, how much Power the Mini PC use).

But i found a Setting in the BIOS to change the PC to Performance Mode and than it uses 65W
> BIOS
> Advanced
> OEM Features Management
> Power Limit Settings
> Balance Mode (thats 54W) or Performance Mode (thats 65 W)

Hello,
To view the different parameters of your minipc, I recommend the HWMonitor software which displays all the power, voltage and temperature information in real time.
You will be able to see the evolution of these parameters during a stability test for example.

"Core Temp" is another great tool to see what the cores are doing, how stressed they are and how much power the cpu is drawing.

Well Guys, not sure I made the right decision.....

Contacted tech support, ask for a possible bios update and how to set the TDP Max setting, GTR7 Pro.

They were very gracious to send me a new bios from GTRP5C6V31, to GTRP5C6V35. all went well to the update. They sent me a PDF about how to TDP Max should work. Just needed to go to PowerLimit Setting in the Advanced and change it to Performance Mode.

Well I did all that. Now it seems the I lost about 1100 points in Cinebench 23 and 3DMarks. Seems to make no difference in the TDP power for above 45watts.... underload.

Now I wish I kept the old bios...

Hello,
To see the real TDP power under load, I advise you to launch the HWMonitor or CoreTemp software and at the same time load a stability test. Personally I run the system stability test available in the AIDA64 software tools. It's the most stressful I've ever been.

Hi. Did you change some Power Setting manually like i did, before i found out, that there is this hidden Balance/Performance Mode Option?

So i mean did u changed this in the Bios:
Change SPL Control to Manual
Change Sustained Power Limit to 54000

Change PPT Control to Manual
Change Fast PPT Limit to 54000
Change Slow PPT Limit to 54000
Change Slow PPT Time Constant to 54000

??? If so, that put everything on AUTO - i did that (i changed these settings to 65000 in hope that the GTR7 uses 65W - which is NOT the case). After i used AUTO there again, i had some points more in Cinebench (before that i had 15667 point in - with AUTO i have 16474 in 65W Mode - in 54W Mode i get between 16259 and 16366)

Hello there,
The turbo TDP only will reach to 65W automatically during using. It will not reach to 65w immediately after setting it up.And it will automatically reach to 65w only when it needs to reach to 65w.

Have a nice day!

Thank You all....

The TDP Max seems to be working as described now..... just needed a reboot....

Now if I could just get my cinebench 23.2, points back, was 17998, now 16659 CPU Multicore from the new bios update...
