Is there a Linux install for the Mini-S12 that would have support for all of it's peripherals including the 12th gen Intel Video Codec hardware accelerators?  If not then are there instructions on how to install Ubuntu and add those?

Hi! I have just install Ubuntu 22.04 and this Kernel:
"Linux 6.4.0.060400-generic x86_64"

Wifi is working but not the bluetooth.

What did you do to solve that?

Thanks!

You can go to this website---kernel.org
Then find 6.5 version Driver to update to solve this issue.

Hope it can help you and have a nice day!

@marioml17 will have to compile the kernel package which is not as simple as downloading a driver.  I believe 23.10 is shipping the 6.5 series of kernel.  Can you update to that for your needs?

Thanks @gsky. I find the solution:

* Update kernel to 6.5.11 (using Mainline Kernels app)
* Execute this on terminal:
**  cd /lib/firmware/intel/
** sudo ln -s ibt-1040-4150.ddc ibt-0040-1050.ddc
** sudo ln -s ibt-1040-4150.sfi ibt-0040-1050.sfi

I think ItsMe57 is saying that to get bluetooth working on Ubuntu, one needs to create two symlinks which are like shortcuts to use a windows term.  On an up-to-date distro like Arch, this is not needed.

@ItsMe57 - you might want to provide the full path to the files as well as the Ubuntu version for others coming across your fix.

For reference, on Arch (linux-firmware 20231212.f2e52a1c-1):
  1. % pacman -Ql linux-firmware | grep ibt-1040-4150
  2. linux-firmware /usr/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-1040-4150.ddc.zst
  3. linux-firmware /usr/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-1040-4150.sfi.zst

  4. % pacman -Ql linux-firmware | grep ibt-0040-1050
  5. linux-firmware /usr/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-0040-1050.ddc.zst
  6. linux-firmware /usr/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-0040-1050.sfi.zst
Copy the Code

Good morning, for Ubuntu 23.10:

* Update kernel to 6.5.11 (using Mainline Kernels app)
* Execute this on terminal:
**  cd /lib/firmware/intel/
** sudo ln -s ibt-1040-4150.ddc.zst ibt-0040-1050.ddc.zst
** sudo ln -s ibt-1040-4150.sfi.zst ibt-0040-1050.sfi.zst

Works like a charm! (wifi & BT)
