Just to inform you all : a few hours ago I ordered 2 M.2 ssd's just for the sake of trying.

A M.2 NVME 500 GB SSD and a M.2 SATA 500 GB SSD. Hope to get them tomorrow or the day after.
If none of these 2 work I think it is proven that the motherboard is at fault. No?

hello Spoonfx,

Thank you for your help. I saw an earlier post of you where you wrote that the original Microsoft Windows 11 version worked. So today I tried that but it didn't work out.
Sorry, but the idea was very good!
Thank you anyways!

The "flea power" thing is just an old way to fully drain residual power or power of a computer.

10 seconds would have done the job just as well. It's a good "old" way to recover a system that's become confused as to whether it was on or off.

Sometimes pulling out the mains lead and removing the battery then holding the power button for a few seconds to <<<drain>>> what we call flea power. Then a restart makes it work properly.

Hello,

Thanks for your input. The last week I tried maybe 20 times to unplug the power, pushing t ...

The battery is typical CR2032. The battery is soldered under the motherboard. I would suggest you contact George (Support-03) at Beelink Support before replacing the battery.

With all you have done so far, you will soon put your finger on the problem and start enjoying this little power house machine!

Keep it up!

1) double-sided heat transfer silicone pad... normal, yes!

2) You got an extra L-shape cable... lucky you!

Small update:

Today I downloaded the Beelink Ubuntu 20.04 ISO and tried to install it on my GTR5. After a cold start I pressed F7 to get in the Boot Selection Window: there I saw my Kingston SSD, my USB stick etc. I selected the USB partition and the installation started. At the point that I had to select a drive/partition the Kingston SSD was gone, only the USB was there. Once a again a failed installation.

After that I downloaded Ubuntu 22.10 ISO and tried to install that. It failed the same way: at the time that I had to select a partition to install to the SSD was gone.. So I had to stop the installation.

Next was to start Ubuntu right from the USB stick: that went well. In Ubuntu 22.10 my wireless network and bluetooth worked flawlessly. But my Kingston SSD could not be found.  So Windows 11 pro, Windows 10 pro and Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.10 failed to install on my GTR 5.

Mailed last night to Beelink Support about my problem: no reaction at this point.

Next step: Installing brand new Samsung 980 500GB SSD. Hope that I get it tomorrow

Hello,
Could you send us a video or some pictures about that?
Have your machine recognized the USB disk?
Have you copy all the files ?

Picture of NVME configuration immediately after a cold start and pressing DEL: Kingston SSD is there as you can see.

bios after cold start.jpg

After installation failure (windows 11 pro, windows 10 pro, Windows 11 pro Dutch version 22H2, Ubuntu, etc): Kingston SDD gone.

Ubuntu: No drive to install to.
Ubuntu no drives or partitions to install to.jpg

The BSOD Critical Process Died with every installation of windows 10 and 11 pro. After that error it restarts and ends up in the bios with SSD gone

Next picture: I started Ubuntu straight from the usb pen (no install) and used DISKS to look at my drives. Look at the left pane :the USB drive is there. NO SSD

Proof that I really downloaded every file I said. Beelink's Windows 11 pro, Beelinks Windows 10 pro, Microsoft windows 11 NL 22H2, Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.10, Rufus,  MemTest86, drivers etc
