Hi @darkstar,
Sorry, to hear about your experience. Perhaps, we can be of assistance. Which GTK Pro are you using -- rev-a or rev-b?
Which version of u-root did you use: “u-root-bootdisk-0v26.img.gz” or “u-root-bootdisk-nc_0v26.img.gz”?
A) Using “u-root-bootdisk_0v26.img.gz”
If you are using "u-root-bootdisk_0v26.img.gz " (chainloader version):
On my GT King Pro (rev a) – only u-root-bootdisk_v26.img (SD or if USB Stick on OTG Port only) can be inserted on GT King Pro on boot up.
Let u-root-bootdisk to boot up fully.
Then insert Fedora 36 USB into GTK Pro and type “boot” on the prompt and “ENTER”.
After this it will prompt you with options select Kernel to boot with.
If “u-root-bootdisk_0v26.img” does not boot up on your GTK Pro try using another “chainloader” for example “u-boot-gtkingpro.bin” and rename it as “u-boot.ext”.
The default “chainloader” currently is “u-boot-gtkingpro-rev-a.bin” which per my understanding is able to boot up on most Amologic Devices.
B) Using “u-root-bootdisk-nc_0v26.img.gz” – NON-CHAINLOADER Version
If you are using “u-root-bootdisk-nc_v26.img.gz” on my GT King Pro both "u-root-bootdisk-nc_v26 USB and Fedora 36 USB can insert into GTK Pro prior to power up. (Same if u-root-bootdisk-nc_0v26" is on SD Card). In this sense the non-chainloader version is more friendly.
The only downside with non-chainloader version is that HTOP will indicate only 3.26 GB or 3.23 GB RAM available instead of 3.70GB or 3.66GB of RAM
If you can provide further details on how you boot up the “u-root-bootdisk”, I might be able to share my experience using "u-root-bootdisk".
I also tested Petit-Bootdisk.
