Most of the issues you'll see with WiFi not functioning are when users attempt to install a custom ROM on a different device. Some many of these Amlogic devices are based on the same reference boards, they'll usually successfully flash and run launch. However, OEMs will sometimes swap out the wireless chipset or change remote controls, and we have no control over that. (We even see that within the same model, since the GT1 ships with Qualcomm QCA9377 and AMPAK AP6255 wireless chipset.)
As a general rule, though, if you install a custom ROM that was built on the stock firmware for your device, you shouldn't hit issues with video performance or wireless driver compatibility. That only really occurs when ROM developer start messing with the underlying kernel or bootloader, and I don't think either of us does that. We're really just preloading different sets of apps. |
