I guess I will try this with the screen black and see what happens

Yes the bootloader was replaced by the previous SD Card upgrade attempt using Android 7 firmware. You need to restore by doing the same approach. It typically doesn't matter if you can't get into recovery mode, or if there's no signal to TV.

Count to five seconds after you have plugged in the adapter, then release the RESET button.

Sadly this doesn't appear to be working :(

I put those 3 files on my root of my fat32 formatted 16gb microsd card, put it in the device, unplugged it, pressed the reset button and held it while i plugged it in then waited between 5-10 seconds to let go.

The screen always stays black, i always give it 15-20 minutes and it remains black, but with no feedback I don't know what's happening inside the device.

Is there an alternative method to try? I ordered a Male-Male USB which will arrive Monday.  Is there something I can try when connected to my PC?

Do you remember what version of the firmware you had installed when it had arrived?

I don't remember EXACT firmware but I recall in the recovery it being dated fairly recent maybe something in June?

I just received this box new today in the mail, started it up, installed SuperSU and then things broke right away.

After it started hanging at boot I tried to flash whatever was newest on forum, and then I'm stuck where I am now trying the firmware you shared with me but im always at a black screen.  I usually try it a couple times an hour holding the reset button for different times.

Try the previous firmware to that.

So if this also doesn't work. Use Amlogic Burn Card Maker v2.0.2 utility and make bootable SD Card to try. :P

Edit:

Dude you're the absolute best, I was able to make a bootable sd card and install it (I used the original firmware you suggested)

Upon booting I was able to install SuperSu and reboot with no issue, the device seems to be working as intended.

Only road block I'm currently hitting now is iptables doesn't appear to want to work and I'm not able to do Global Socks proxy with my SSH Tunnel.... But other than that everything seems great so far.
