If you don't do much of copy paste then you can use it on mainline kernel without any problem.

I've watched movies on GT King Pro without getting it to freeze.

I hope it gets fixed,  I will start testing newer kernel again and debug the kernel panic again.

Now with Armbian_Bullseye__5.9-rc8, was able to install LibreOffice, GIMP and LibreOffice 7.0.2 upgrade from 7.0.1, install various mesa packages without issue and it haven't freeze/hang yet so far.  My unit is Rev. A.  Play video at 1080p/60 0k.  Downloaded a 700+MB file no issue so far.  

With previous mainline Kernel 5.8.5, 5.8.10, 5.9-rc2, 5.9-rc6 and 5.9-rc7 it will freeze at time when performing sudo apt update && apt uprade, or installing applications or just copying files at times. The freeze usually happen when writing to disk or I notice at CPU temp >66C and CPU Freq at 1.99GHz 1.99GHz (big.LITTLE).

The errors I notice (with 5.9.0-rc8) are as follows (but system still function so far):

1. [Firmware Bug]: Kernel image misaligned at boot, please fix your bootloader! - dmesg
2. panfrost ffe40000.gpu: error powering up gpu L2 (dmesg)
3. panfrost ffe40000.gpu: error powering up gpu shader (dmesg)

4. During Boot Up (Fail to Start Reset System Activity Log.
5. When install GIMP using Synaptic Package Manager after successful installation, Error cannot Write.. No Space on Disk.

Spoke too soon about Armbian_Bullseye_5.9.0-rc8 being working well.  After installing 78.3.0ESR and running Firefox ESR it froze twice .

By far, your Ubuntu 20.04 LTS 4.9.206 built is the most stable that I have used and is the daily driving horse. Thank you.

You might have already known, just in case fyi,  according to Spikerguy in communication with the Beelink Development Team, the kernel panic in the GT King/Pro on Linux Mainline Kernel is due to Android BSP UBOOt having conflict with the Linux Mainline Kernel.

Look forward and hope Beelink Development Team will come out with a solution to rectify the Kernel Panic on Linux Mainline Kernel.

I have a Manjaro ARM LInux image for testing but it will only run without android on emmc which will need users to erase android from emmc to run the OS over SD Card and then it can be flashed to emmc.

I am loving the performance of GT King Pro over emmc with Manjaro Linux cannot wait to have GPU support on it and this will be the best desktop replacement.

If anyone want to test the image then I will create a new thread on how to erase vendor uboot on emmc and then boot in Manjaro over SD.

Thanks to Beelink Support team now we have Mainline uboot for GT King and GT King pro.

Keep up the good work.  

Would love to try your new Manjaro Arm Linux but without the Android OS means the other family members will not be able to use the GT King Pro for home entertainment/video streaming and will be up in arms.

So at this moment, it looks like will have to wait until Beelink Development rework their Android BSP Uboot to support or not conflict with Mainline Linux Kernel or other available solutions to resolve the kernel panic .  I believe many Beelink GT King and GT King Pro users might be in the same situation.

Look forward to Beelink Development Team in collaboration with Manjaro and Linux Kernel Developers to resolve the kernel panic issue on Linux Mainline Kernel.

I did manage to download VIM3_Ubuntu_V0.9 Kernel 4.9.224 and got it to work on my GT King Pro but could not or do not know how to upgrade to VIM3 latest Kernel 4.9.232 which based on your above input works better.  Per my experience the VIM3 Kernel 4.9.224 refreshing the screens or windows better than your earlier build kernel 4.9.206 but kernel 4.9.224 video performance on Firefox seems to be not as good as your build kernel 4.9.206.  

Would appreciate if you could provide guidance on how to upgrade from your build kernel 4.9.206 or from VIM3 Kernel 4.9.224 to Kernel 4.9.232 or any possibility to share your new build.
