Hello beelink.

I have a gtr7 pro with factory bios bought in 2023 and since then I have had problems when trying to connect my egpu with rtx 3070 via usb 4. In the past I reset the bios and that resolved it, despite it being a crude solution. Today, even resetting my bios, the egpu turns on and the rtx fans spin, but then they stop and I end up having to use the AMD video!

Please, what is the solution to this problem?

I can't bear to reset the bios anymore and my egpu still doesn't work. Meanwhile I see other people with the same mini pc and their egpus work!

Hello there,
Please go to AMD website and download the auto-detect program.

It will update some chipsets and video drivers automatically. It will identify and install appropriate drivers for their AMD hardware. The program works by scanning the user’s system to detect the installed AMD hardware components, such as graphics cards or processors. It then compares the detected hardware information with a database of AMD drivers and software versions.

hello.

I did as you explained and updated the AMD drivers for my GTR 7 Pro. Even with the most updated drivers the problem continued, however I was using a 2 meter USB 4 cable and had another small USB 4 cable saved. I decided to test the smaller cable and it worked! I believe it was not the drivers, but the 2 meter cable that may be having problems.

Unfortunately, not everything is perfect! Even though the video problem via EGPU has now been resolved, the GTR now doesn't turn off even when I click on the shutdown option in Windows. The GTR 7 PRO's power button remains on even when I turn it off through Windows.

This never happened before! It was exactly after AMD driver updates that the power button no longer turned off.

What should I do to resolve this?

I have already installed the latest version of the driver available on the AMD website. How do I know which was the original version that came factory installed on the GTR 7 PRO? You should say that. Currently, whenever I turn off Windows, the power button's LED light remains on even with the mini PC "off". That's regrettable!

Hello.

After updating the AMD chipset and vga with the driver you provided, the problem with the power button staying lit even after turning off Windows was resolved! Very grateful for the help!

I just have one more problem (reported in another post on my profile months ago and which was not addressed). I have an EGPU with RTX 3070 and when I connect it to the GTR via USB port 4 it doesn't work. Not even Windows recognizes it. At first it worked (sometimes), but after Windows and driver updates from AMD (undone with their latest package) it didn't work anymore.

After returning to the AMD driver version I tried again to use my egpu, but it didn't work.

The bios version of my gtr7 pro is the one that came from the factory.

Can you help me resolve this?

Is there a BIOS setting that I need to do for this to work or was the kit supposed to be automatically identified when Windows is turned on?

Hello there,
Pls try to change to another cable first.
If it did not work, it will be the compatible issue.

Hello.

I did the following tests:

1 - I tested more than one USB 4 cable on the USB 4 port above the GTR's headphone jack. It didn't work.

2 - I tested more than one HDMI cable on the monitor. It didn't work.

My EGPU with RTX 3070 worked in the first few months after purchasing the GTR7 Pro, but it wasn't working perfectly, as it worked when it wanted to.

At the time, Beelink support told me to reset the BIOS using the CMOS button. I did this a few times and it worked, but now this procedure no longer works. In fact, even if it did work, it wouldn't be a pleasant procedure to do (I didn't buy the GTR7 Pro to use my EGPU this way).

Beelink has already asked me to update the AMD drivers using AMD's own application (including VGA). I did this and despite having the most recent drivers, it did not solve the GPU problem and it also brought me a new problem (fixed after installing the factory version of AMD drivers for the GTR7 Pro) which was that the GTR7 Pro did not turn off the power button after shutting down Windows.

There are several reports of problems with eGPU using NVIDIA cards on the forum. I also read that there is a more recent BIOS update for the GTR7 Pro with fixes for the USB port for external video cards.

Would this BIOS update for my GTR7 Pro help solve my problem? If Beelink says yes, I will send the BIOS version of my GTR7 Pro below and await guidance on the next steps to solve this.
