I have two SER5 5560U systems... one stays on 24x7, auto-logged into Windows and running multiple apps - like a server. It works great, never shuts down.
My other SER5 randomly turns itself off while in use. Its never shut down literally while I'm running an app but it seems that when its idle for any random amount if time it will shut down... even if I'm logged in!  It shuts the power off so I need to go push the button. Sometimes its fine for many hours, other times (like tonight) it disconnected only a few minutes after being idle but while still logged in using Windows Remote Desktop and Chrome Remote Desktop. I have the BIOS set to Always On, just like the other system.

Anyone know if a Windows 11 setting could be causing this? thx

Are you sure it's shutting off and not simply going into standby?

The front panel led should flash in standby but for some reason it does not on these models. The thing look to be off but it's actually sleeping.

Quick test ... next time it does that, hit Shift on your keyboard and see if it magically comes back to life.

In windows 11 you can adjust the power settings from control panel or settings.  Choose the advanced options to fine tune the behaviour.

Thx, you are correct!  Sleep was set. This system runs where kb and the monitor are turned off much of the time, usually remote desktop into it. You'd think that a remote desktop (active network connection & virtual display driver) would have kept it awake. strange... thx!

It's going to do it anyway and when you try to reboot - you will still need to unplug and re-plug the power. Not every time but often enough to be annoying.

Go into Device Manager ... find your network connection ... under properties you will find a setting for "Allow this device to wake the computer" ... check the box, restart, then accessing it will bring it out of standby.

Boot from a USB stick to isolate whether this is an OS issue or a hardware one.
